3 Ways with Chicken Strips: 3 - Sticky Barbeque Chicken Strips

Our third variation is fast and packed with sweet ’n sour flavour, it’s our slightly sticky barbeque chicken strips!

What you will need

  • 4 skinless free range chicken breasts
  • FOR SERVING
  • 2 fat garlic cloves, finely minced
  • Micro greens
  • 2 Tbsp tomato paste
  • Coriander leaves
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Finely sliced spring onion
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • Finely sliced mild red chilli
  • 2 tsp Natural Herbs & Spices BBQ Grill
  • Toasted sesame seeds (or a scattering of chopped seed and nut brittle if you’re feeling a bit naughty)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Method

Slice the chicken breast into strips and place them in a large flat bowl. Then stir together the tomato paste, garlic, honey, Natural Herbs & Spices Barbeque Grill Salt Seasoning and balsamic vinegar to form a thick paste. Pour over the chicken and toss to coat evenly. Cover and place in the fridge for an hour. Lift the chicken out of the marinade and fry it in batches in hot vegetable oil until just cooked through.

Towards the end of the cooking, give it a bit of extra flavour love with another tablespoon of balsamic and another tablespoon of honey. Taste and adjust salt by adding more Natural Herbs & Spices Barbeque Grill Salt Seasoning. Serve scattered with micro leaves, coriander, spring onion, red chilli and toasted sesame seeds or chopped seed and nut brittle.
